(More customer reviews)This mount is rock solid. The suction cup and clamp stick like glue. The clamp is hard to lock and release, but that's the point. The mount arm is very heavy plastic and doesn't flex or vibrate over rough road conditions. It does not pivot around the window mount, though, so the angle you get when you clamp the mount to the window is the one you are stuck with. You can make up for it by adjusting the phone mount itself, which attaches to the arm with a ball socket mount. One large thumbscrew tightens the whole thing easily. The plate that grips the phone buckles in to the ball-socket mount separately, which makes it very easy to remove but leave the mounting arm in place.
The audio and power ports are on the back of the phone mounting plate. You can pop out the phone and leave the cords in place. But they are low on the back, which means you'll have to attach the cords to the faceplate first and then buckle it in to the ball mount. If you mount it low against your dash you won't be able to get around the back of this once it's in place.
If you are running Android 2.2, it will automatically launch your docking software and route audio out the port on back.
Overall, this is much better than generic phone mounts and more solid as well.
