(More customer reviews)This case has a craftmanship feel to it. High quality soft leather, extra visible stitching and a excellent fit work nicely together to give you a quality feel. The leather has a strong leathery smell, which I hope will wear off during the next days.
I feel sure that the design works to protect my iPad from a drop and will keep it from any wear and tear.
I'm also pleased with the positions the case offers. The low position is stable and allows you to type without holding it. The steep position allows you to watch, but you need to be carefull not to push it over when touching. Then there is a bonus upright position (not shown on the pictures), that allows you to watch the iPad in portrait position. It will fall when you push it, but leave it untouched and you will find that it's quite stable.
So far so good. So what can be improved? First of, I'm not very happy with the way the side has to slide into the back opening to hold it into position. My kids tend to move the iPad around while using it. The connection will let go and the iPad will fall flat on the table. This happens all the time with my youngest one (2 year old), but my 4 year old is able to prevent this most of the time.
Another thing that doesn't work perfectly is the magnet to put the iPad to sleep and to wake it up. To make sure it will fall asleep you may have to close the lid with a bit of oomph. So you might think the magnet isn't strong enough. Perhaps, but is is strong enough to put the iPad to sleep when you open the case and have the iPad rest on both layers of leather. I quess this will be difficult the prevent for any case that allows you to fold it. In practice this can be prevented by opening it wide.
I guess I could have given the case five stars. But Yoobao has pushed my expectations through the roof with their excellent case for the iPad 1, so that explains my four stars for a product I would confidently advise anyone to buy.
